Meet the Co-Founders

 

Eva & Markus learned the custom woodworking and cabinetry trade in Europe over 25 years ago and at Studio Europa they have built a team of highly skilled craftspeople with years of training in the art of fine woodworking.

Ed Brown, Architectural Kitchen Designer

Ed is a graduate of the Design Institute of San Diego where he earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Interior Design. He later went on to earn his Master of Architecture degree from the New School of Architecture in San Diego, and now teaches Kitchen Design at Palomar College. Ed was trained in Germany, Toronto, San Francisco, and Hershey PA. His architectural and design education enables him to see and experience interior architecture not just from the inside looking out, but from the outside looking in, giving great perspective in understanding the vernacular of each space.

Ed has extensive European cabinetry training and over 18 years of industry experience. He is proud to represent Europe’s innovation leader, LEICHT.

Kara-Joy

Kara Joy, Sales/Design Support

Kara Joy recently joined the Studio Europa team coming from LEICHT USA corporate in Irvine where she specialized in Technical German Kitchen design. She is a graduate of Boston Architectural College where she earned her certificate in Kitchen and Bath Design, as well as earning her BFA in Architectural design from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

She has lived in Turkey, Philippines, and Russia, giving her great exposure to other cultures, enjoys to practice and teach yoga and is falling in love with San Diego.

AndreTrachsel

Andre Trachsel, Install Manager/Superintendent

A native of Switzerland, Andre Trachsel recently celebrated his 10 year anniversary with Studio Europa. Andre is responsible for LEICHT and custom cabinet installations and is also the acting job supervisor for our general contracting projects.

In his free time Andre enjoys home improvement projects, and is a passionate, talented chef who really knows his way around the kitchen. Look for special LEICHT showroom events with Andre teaching some tasty and fun cooking classes.

Michael Imbaumgarten, Custom Cabinetmaker/LEICHT Installer

Michael Imbaumgarten joins Studio Europa as an International exchange employee. He is a talented Swiss trained cabinetmaker, and enjoys putting his knowledge and craftsmanship to work on our custom woodworking projects, and on LEICHT installations.

Michael loves traveling all over the world, and being able to live and work in the USA is his dream come true.

Roman Kotelenets, European Cabinetmaker/LEICHT Installer

Roman comes to us with over 10 years of experience installing European and custom cabinetry. He also has worked in other areas of construction including electrical, plumbing, framing, and general construction supervision. His education includes a 4-year technical degree in Electrical-HVAC, as well as Quality Assurance software testing.

Roman enjoys fishing, bike riding, and is dedicated to raising a wonderful family. We are excited to have Roman join the Studio Europa Leicht Team.

Debra Diaz Project Coordinator Studio Europa LEICHT

Debra Diaz, Project Coordinator

Debra Diaz manages project coordination for Studio Europa LEICHT. Debra comes to us from Texas with 10 years of experience as an Office Manager with 4 years at a Restoration Company and some 6 years with a General Contractor focusing on Fire and Water Restoration. She enjoys working with customers and providing the assurance needed and keeping them up to date with their project as this is typically a wonderful but stressful time

Some of Debra’s hobbies include reading, enjoying outdoor activities, especially now here in San Diego with her two dogs, Roxie and Canelo.
